“Even in the Days of Disobedience, The Lord Delivers”
Hey Pensa & Youth Family,
As youth, it is important for us to visit some important stories in the bible that will guide us in our christian walk.
The story of Jonah is one of the well known stories to us even at the children ministry level. In this account there are certain things I will like to bring to our attention.
First and foremost, admitting our mistakes and confessing our sins to God.
Many of us perhaps finds ourselves in situations where we have neglected the voice of our God and have gone our own way. As a result things are not going on well with us, but we have hardened our hearts and have deliberately decided not to admit our fault and cry onto the Lord for deliverance.
The story of Jonah is very telling. Jonah 2:1-11 teaches us that Jonah admitted that he had disobeyed God and asked for forgiveness of sin in such distress.
This also tells us God is not far from us even when we feel far from Him. Once we cry unto Him, He will hear us.Never let your situation stop you from crying onto the Lord for his deliverance, Never think the Lord will not listen to your prayers in such situation. He is God and He is always faithful to us even when we are faithless.
Another key thing we should take note of is that until we accomplish what God wants us to do, God will never put us to rest. As youth, God speaks to us in many ways and gives His message to us in many ways but some of us have taken the position Jonah took and have been silent in telling people what God has given to us for them.
No matter how long we have been in the belly of the fish as a result of our disobedience, God still needs us and that is why we are still surviving under such conditions. All we need to do is admit to our mistake and ask God for his deliverance.
May the God who delivered Jonah, deliver us from any situation we find ourselves in as a results of our disobedient to His voice.
Stay Blessed
