FINISH THE COURSE BEFORE YOU START A NEW ONE
Happy Monday everyone!
I know the year has just started and everyone is super excited about achieving new goals and being in a new spaces but I want to remind us about the importance of completion and excelling in the current areas of your life before moving on to other things. Sometimes it gets so easy to get frustrated with our situations, expecting to be in better jobs or higher positions, But have we done our best to excel and thrive where we are before leaving?
This questions has lead me to the story of David. When we are first introduced to David is 1 Samuel, we find out that he is merely a Shepard, herding sheep. David is eventually anointed by Samuel in chapter 16, making him a qualified candidate to be king. The funny thing is, after that, he went back to herding sheep! Even after that, he was sent to SERVE Saul and wasn’t king right away. In the midst of this, he tended to the sheep and served Saul well. In the positions and tasks that seemed little, David proved himself to be a good leader and servant. These skills, patience and a desire to do well in the space that God had put him in, resulted in David being prepared to take on Goliath and for kingship when the time came.
I just want to encourage all of you whether it be school, work or even ministry, to strive for excellence in the positions you’re in now so when God puts you in the places you want to and are meant to be in, you will flourish!
Have a great day 😊
