RECONCILIATION, A DIFFICULT BUT IMPORTANT THING FOR ALL BELIEVERS
Bible Ref: 2Corinthians 5:18-19
Colossians 1:19-22
Romans 5:10
Hi everyone,
Today I would like to share with you an important topic of which if not by the grace of God I would have been a victim of it.
As christians sometimes we may be offended by people especially the very close ones, they may hurt us to the point we may never want to forgive such people.
In this regard we sometimes feel justified about our decision of not forgiving such a person, but as christians and children of the the father who first loved us whiles we were once sinners, it is our responsibility to make peace with anyone even if they caused the problem.
I know how difficult it is when you are hurt by someone especially your own friends and family member, but one thing someone told me when I found myself in such situation is ” Never let someones mistake take away the blessing, and love God has for you”.
In light of this statement the person told, one question could be asked, how can i loose the the love and blessing from God if I dont forgive and reconcile with someone who deliberately offended me.The answer to this question may be found in all the above bible references.
I know it is a difficult thing to do, but with the help of the holy spirit we can do it.
May be you find yourself in a situation whereby you were offended by a friend whether at SCHOOL, WORK or even at CHURCH and it has become very difficult to let go the pain the person caused.
May be your parents, siblings, or an extended family member caused you a lot of pain, perhaps you ended up in jail, falsely accused of a crime you never committed, which affected your life, but in all these situation our God is encouraging us that if we want to enjoy the fullness of His love, grace, blessing, peace, then we have to forgive and leave at peace with EVERYONE.
I will urge all of us especially if you find yourself in such a situation and you have the heart to forgive but the pain is so huge that anytime you want to let go, the devil comes in to deceive you and prevents you from taking that godly step. You can talk to your elder, your youth leader, your pastor or anyone you think might be able to help you in prayers and advice to go about it and God through the power of the holy spirit will grant you the heart and strength to let go everything.
Tomorrow might be too late, today is the time and period.
Never say had I known.
May God help us and grant us the heart to forgive and reconcile with all those who have hurt us, just as He the Lord, through Chris reconciled with us.
