RELY ON THE STRENGTH OF GOD, DONT DO THINGS ON THE POWER OF THE FLESH

Bible Reference: Psalm 127:1  ” If the Lord does not build the house, it is useless for the builders to work on it.If the Lord does not protect the city, it is useless for the guard to stay alert”
Good morning everyone
We thank God for such a wonderful. We give him all the glory and praise.
Today in our search for scriptures we will be looking at a very short but important thing in our christian  walk. I will start by asking you this question. What does it mean to rely on God?. Take note of the answer that came in mind and at the end of this discussion compare it to what the bible says and see if indeed you truely rely on God or you rely on your own strength.
Planning is an important thing for believers and the bible encourages us to plan ahead in regards to our work or our daily activities as in the case of ant( Proverbs 30:25).
As student it is important for us to have a well planned study time table to guard our daily activities.
Why then is there the need for relying on God if I have a well planned time table.I think this is where most of us sometime become victim of todays topic.
Remember what the bible says, ” The horse may be prepared for war, but safety and victory can only be guaranteed from God”.
This means, we can have the best time time table ever, unless God permits, it will be impossible for us to succeed.I know one question just came into your mind after reading this sentence, which is what about those who dont believe in God but yet are making it better in their activities.
Well I believe this is a good question that I think it should be opened for discussion in our youth meetings or perhaps in our pensa meetings. We can think about about the following verse to see if it will help us to understand why it happens that way( Jeremiah 12:1, Malachi 3:15, Psalm 73:3).
Now I think we can look into the scripture to see why we need to rely in the strength of God.
1.Our flesh may fail. ( Psalm 73:26)
2.Relying on God will make our path straight. ( Proverbs 3:5-6)
3.We will lack nothing because God is our strength. (Psalm 23:1-2)
4. We will have wealth without painful toil for it. ( Proverbs 10:22)
5. In times of difficulties, He will bring us out. ( Psalm 118:5)
These and many more are the reasons why we need to rely on the strength of God.
I wanted us to look into what it means to rely on God, but we will look into that in our next discussion.I believe you still have the answer to the question I asked earlier.
May God bless you and keep you safe even as we wait upon His coming.
