THE GREAT PROMISE OF GOD AND THE GREAT JUDGEMENT OF GOD
THE GREAT PROMISE OF GOD AND THE GREAT JUDGEMENT OF GOD
Good morning everyone,
We thank God for such a blessed day like this granted unto us through Christ Jesus our Lord. May His name be praised now and forever.
Today in our discussion we will be reminding ourselves with some promises of God for us and the same time remind ourselves about the great judgment of God which in many cases Christians don’t want to talk about. There is the need for us especially young and upcoming Christians to always have in our minds the coming of Christ and the judgement.
I know there are many great promises for us as Christians outline in the Holy Scriptures, but we will be looking at just a few of them today. As Christians it is important for us to understand these great promises which are spiritual prophesies that helps us in accomplishing our God given potentials.
- The unconditional love of God: How excellent is the love of God for us by sending his only Son to die for our sins that by believing in Christ we will be called sons and daughters of God. (John 3:16). In the book of 2 Peter 3:9 and Psalm 103:8-11 we see clearly the demonstration of this great love for us by reserving his wrath and looking up to us for us to repent from our sins.
- The eternal home set for us in heaven: (1 Peter 1:4, Psalm 121). The promise for us is not perishable thing but eternal life set for us through Christ in heaven.
- The power of Christ in us: (Philippians 4:13, Psalm 5:12, Romans 8:31)
- The plan of God for us: (Jeremiah 29:11, Psalm 103)
The great judgement day
In Revelation chapter 4 John gives a detailed description of the throne and the appearance and all that surrounds it, the twenty-four thrones with the twenty-four elders, the living creatures, the mighty angels, lightening’s, voices of peals of thunder, the seven Spirit which was described in chapter 1.
Nothing looked so scary in chapter 4 but in chapter 20 vrs 11 of this same book we see a perfect description of what is to be done and now John describes the throne as “A GREAT WHITE THRONE”. The first and greatest judgement of God demonstrated in this chapter is God removing his revelation from men. Nothing really looks scary or trembling at this point until you understand what it means by God removing his revelation from men.
- No revelation of God for us on that Day: We have the opportunity in this time to know who God is, His attributes, through preaching and studying of His word, but on the judgement day they will all be taken away from us and God will declare unto us I have made myself known to you all these years and although you knew God, but you did not honor Him as God, depart from me.
- There is no covenant between man and God on that day: All the great promises made by God to us will be no more on this day.
- There will be no lightening on that day: God has also reminded us of his existence through many means and lightening is one of the ways God always reminds us that He exist but on that day such reminder will be no more.
- There will be no grace on that day
Very soon the Christ will be coming, are we ready for his coming? Are we still abiding in the true vine? Are we bearing good fruit? Are we walking in holiness and righteousness?
Its my prayer the good God will grant us the strength to abide in him and continue to walk with him in holiness and righteousness until the day of his coming.
Have a wonderful day
