WICKED PEOPLE IN THE HANDS OF AN ANGRY GOD:

Bible Refernce:Zephaniah :1:7-8 “Hold thy peace at the presence of the Lord GOD: for the day of the LORD is at hand: for the LORD hath prepared a sacrifice, he hath bid his guests. 8 And it shall come to pass in the day of the LORD’S sacrifice, that I will punish the princes, and the king’s children, and all such as are clothed with strange apparel”.

Good morning everyone,

Grace be to everyone, and peace from God our Father and from our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. Blessed be the Lord GOD and the creator and owner of the universe, the birds of the air, the fishes of the sea, the plants and animals on the surface of the earth and the unseen things.

May the name of our Lord GOD and Christ Jesus our savior be praised now and forever.

In our search for scriptures today, we will be reminding ourselves about who God is and how dangerous it will be if we die in our sins or continue living in our sin when Christ come.

From our bible reference, depending on your relationship with God or you understanding with, one will see God in one of these form (WICKED GOD or LOVING GOD).

This leads me to ask the question, how do you see God in this scripture, do you see GOD as the wicked and unloving or you see GOD as the loving and caring GOD? I think I will leave it for you to decide, but whatever way you might picture GOD to be from this passage, there is one thing you should know that GOD is one and he changed not. The GOD of the old testament as found in this chapter is the same as found in the new testament especially in our popular bible verse ( John 3:16)

It is often said God hate sin but love sinners and this statement instead of leading people to continuous state of holiness has rather led people to continuous state of sinning and rebelling against God. In my point of view, I will say God love us not because we deserve his but because He first loved His son, and as a result made him sin that we will experience His grace.

The issue I have is not whether God love sinners or hate sinners, the issue is in what state will God find you when the trumpet sounds, will you be found in your sinful state or in your righteous state. If it you are found in your sinful state then I am sorry to disappoint you that the statement God love sinners but hate sin doesn’t hold on that day because the grace of GOD will be no more.

Should the love of GOD for sinners be an encouragement for us to walk in a holy way or rather encourages us to live in sin? Most people will agree with the former, but the reality is most of us are still living in our sins and not just living in sin but shows no regret or any effort of staying away from our evil deeds just because GOD is love and is slow to anger.

It is true and I agree perfectly that God is love and slow to anger, but very soon and now the love of GOD will cease and GOD will pour HIS perfect wrath upon the wicked and cast the wicked into eternal suffering.

I know these sayings are not new to us, perhaps we have heard it over and over and doesn’t look like a possibility to most of us, well like I always tell people, there is nothing more real in the bible than heaven and hell and the great judgement of God.

We still have opportunity, the grace of God is still available for us, please this is the time and now, repent before the day of the LORD comes, it is real, it is happening, it is terrible, great men, beautiful ladies, handsome men, rich men, poor men, the sick, the healthier, all will stand before the great GOD on that day.

Remember the saying of our Lord Jesus Christ, ‘’ THE DAY OF THE LORD WILL COME LIKE A THIEF” please let us watch and pray, and access ourselves to see if we are still in the faith.

“The great day of the LORD is near– near and coming quickly. The cry on the day of the LORD is bitter; the Mighty Warrior shouts his battle cry”. ( Zephaniah 1:14)

God bless you
