DONT DESTROY YOURSELF NOR LOOSE YOUR SENSE, FLEE FROM SEXUAL SIN.

Bible Reference: Proverbs 6: 32:  ” He who commits adultery has no sense; he who does it destroys himself”.

Good morning everyone,

Blessed be to God our creator and the Father of our saviour Jesus Christ.May His name be praised now and forever.

We thank God for such a wonderful day in our life, we thank Him for the life of our family, our friends and for the life of other believers.

Today I would like to share with you something that is almost not preached about nowadays in modern christianity for the reason i dont know.But I think as young christians in this part of the world, it is important for us to understand some of these things to guide us in our christian walk.

Been a victim of this very topic but by redemptive work of Christ and the Holy Spirit I have all the confidence to share with you and to warn us about the consequences we bring upon ourselves when we engage in this act.

Most often when you mention sexual sin in christian environment, its only one thing that comes in the  mind of most people which is having sex outside of marriage. That is true, but not only the act of sex but any form of it.

Just as Christ said in Matthew 5:27-28 “You heard it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery,’ but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman/wife in order to covet her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”

It should be noted that the reverse of this verse is also possible.

In this generation and in this part of of the world, sexual sin has become the normal way of life to many even most of us who are believers( 2 Timothy 3:1-5).Sexual immorality destroys us and keeps us far away from the love of God, it is also a great wickedness in the sight of our creator, the Holy God.( Genesis 39:9)

Why is this of great concern to us and why should we even care about it: Well just as the bible reference makes us know, it leads to self destruction and anyone who does that has no sense..

Reading through the old testament on this subject in the past days, I came across many great men who had potentials given to them by God but were destroyed as a results of this deadly sin.

1. Solomon, as the bible makes us understand, was the wisest man, but from the book of 1 Kings 11, Nehemiah 13:26, we can see that the if we are careless about the opposite gender, our emotions can be stronger than our knowledge.

2. Another example that we all also know is the story of Samson which can be found in Judges 16:4-21

3. Talking about this topic, David can never be left out.( 2 Samuel 11-12) makes it clear that his children were not even spared.

In all these examples and also from our bible verse it is clear to us us about the consequences of sexual sin.

The devil as he has been known from old to only come to steal, destroy and to kill has many ways of making sin so attractive to christians that we may not see it to be sin.

Many of us may not have engaged into the act of sex, but find ourselves in other forms of sexual sin.The kind of things we watch in our rooms on our laptops, mobile phones, tablets etc, others also engage in masturbation, etc which as christians are all sins in the sight of God.

There are many of us who are in relationship who also use preventive measure as a means to their continual walk in sin.Any form of sexual satisfaction outside marriage is sin.

In all these, there is still opportunity for us if you find yourself in this area of sin, Christ is still willing to cleanse you, the blood is still available, the grace is still present. Confess your sins to Lord, ask for forgiveness, and go and sin no more.

If you have to talk about it with your youth leader, your pastor, your parents or anyone who can guide you and help you in prayers please do so.

Tomorrow might be too late. Don’t harden your heart, I know you have heard about this before, but I beg of you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, flee from this deadly sin before its too late.

This is the only time the grace is available, its now or never.

The king of kings will be coming soon and the wrath of God will be upon those who still live in their sin.

It is going to be terrible and fearful, run for your life.

Its my prayer even as you have read this, the Holy Spirit will convict you and bring to light your weakness and by your confession you will be saved and you will be given a new life.
