ARE YOU STILL WORTHY TO BE PRESENTED TO GOD AS HOLY AND BLAMELESS? A CALL TO DUTY FOR US ALL
Colossi ans 1:21-23 “Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. 22 But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation— 23 if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant”.
Good morning everyone,
We thank God for such a wonderful day like this. We thank him for his gist of grace, granting unto us sinners what we do not deserve through Christ Jesus. May his name be praised forever.
Today in our search for scriptures we will be examining ourselves to see if indeed we are still worthy to be presented to God as holy blameless servants. Before we go into our main verse, it is important for us to reflect on some important things Apostle Paul highlighted in the first few verses before verse 21.
In the first four verses (verses 1-4), Paul as he almost does in most of his letters demonstrates a strong leadership quality by using every opportunity he has to uplift others he works with. In these first four verses, we can see the consistency of Paul when he first introduced Timothy right from the beginning and consistently used the word WE in the remaining verses.
I don’t know how serious this is to you, but in my point of view, it really speaks a lot to those of you who are leaders and have others under you .It is important for us not to be self centered people and as people who always want to be seen as the boss in everything and shadows others around us.
Paul makes it clear in verse to us as Christians that, the motivation for our faith in Christ and the love for God and others is because of the hope we have in Christ upon his coming. He also gives confidently defend the gospel as a true word of God.
Another important thing to know is the prayer and desire of Paul for the people which also demonstrate how as a leader, you should care for your people and not only a leader, as Christians we should always pray and seek for the spiritual growth of other believers.
There are many things to be said about the first 20 verse of this chapter, but for time sake let us now go to our verses for today. Paul is telling us as believers who have been saved through the precious blood of Christ, that we should always remain in the faith to which we first believed.
It is a continuous process and at every time we will be called by our maker, we should be able to stand before the holy God blameless because we remained in Christ and as a result he divine nature was imputed in us not because of our works but because we believed in Christ and obeyed him.
I don’t know how your Christian journey has been since you first believed, but today I want to remind you that we were saved by a precious blood and there is a greater promise set ahead for us upon the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
This world and everything in it will be passing away, and we will be standing before the holy God on the day of judgement, are you ready for this day? Are you still in faith? Examine yourself and if you find that you have been waved away by the passion of your former ignorant, quickly run to Lord and ask for his forgiveness.
This is the time, tomorrow might be too late.
God bless you
