WINNING SOULS FOR CHRIST; MAKE GOOD USE OF OUR YOUTHFUL AGE BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE

Bible Reference: Romans 10:13-15; 13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news”

Good morning everyone,

We thank our God for such a blessed and a wonderful day. We give him all the glory and praise for the gift of life and sustaining us throughout the night. May his name be praised now and forever.

Today we will be looking soul winning which the bible places much emphasis on. As young Christians who by the grace of God we have come to the saving knowledge of Christ, it is expected of us to also turn many to the Lord. The bible makes us to understand that those who turn many to righteous are like stars for ever and ever (Daniel 12:3). The question to ask is why did the bible say MANY. This should tell us that we have a great responsibility as believers and especially in our youthful age.

Having said that, let us now look at our bible reference. In verse 13 of our bible reference we can see that salvation is for everyone who calls upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. I think Paul would have left us in a great suspense and confusion if he didn’t go ahead to tell us how someone who don’t know Christ can call upon Him. But we thank God Paul gave us the remedy for this which is the great responsibility of every Christian.

It is important to note that as people who are called to win souls for Christ, we must be ready at every point in time to defend the truth of the word of God. This also means before we can defend the truth we must first of all also see that our walk with God sincere and we are in right standing with God.” Can a blind man lead a blind man? Will they not both fall in a pit? (Luke 6:39)

One of the reasons why it is hard for many Christians to share the word of God with unbelievers is because of sin. We have to daily examine ourselves to see if we are free from sin ( ( Matthew 7:3-5). We should also know that our God is a compassionate God and so we should have a strong compassion for souls that are perishing.

Before we go out to share the word of God with others it is important we seek the direction of God through prayers and meditation of Gods word. Many at times we rely on our human ideas and strategies and so we keep on failing. We should know that the heart of the person is won not because of our eloquence but it is the work of the Holy Spirit.

What we need before going out to share the gospel whether individually is to ask God for a deeper understanding of whatever we will be going to share with others. It is important we understand what we preach about and what we preach about is Christ and the love of God. In this generation, there are several methods that we can adopt to win souls for Christ. Bus stop evangelism, social media, friendship, etc.

What will be the results if we fail in doing this our God given responsibilities?

  • Many souls will be lost
  • Sin may abound
  • There will be increase in evil men etc

All this one way or the other may not affect those who engage in sin but has the possibility of affecting Christians as a whole.

To conclude for today’s discussion, I will encourage all of us to help win souls for Christ using all the available opportunities and God will bless us.

OPERATION ONE MONTH ONE SOUL BEGINS NOW.
