LET THE WORD OF GOD BE YOUR GUIDE IN THE DAYS OF YOUR YOUTH.

Bible Reference: Psalm 119:9 “How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Your word.

Good morning faithful brethren in the Lord,

We thank our God for such a wonderful day like this given to undeserving people like us through Christ Jesus our Lord and savior, May the name of our God be praised now and forever.

Today we in our search for scriptures, we will be taken a look at the importance and the power of keeping the word of God when we are young. I have heard many young Christians say there can be more active when they grow or when they marry and have kids and so there is no need at their youthful age to be committed to the things of God especially staying away from sin and living a righteous life in the sight of God.

At the same time these young men and women wonder why the power of God is not manifested in our days as it was before. How do we want to experience the move of God when the things of God seem boring to us? It is only in our generation that we have made the word of God as in impractical thing and so we tend to rely on worldly knowledge in almost all our decisions.

Jesus in John 21:18 gives one of the most inspiring message and reminder for young people and draws our attention to the need for us to make good use of our youthful days. This passage from Christ should be sufficient enough to keep a believer in a continuous stage of piety.

From our memory verse, it is clear that the only way we can keep our ways pure is by keeping and obeying the instructions of God which is his word. The word of God as we know from the book of John is Christ. This tells us that if we accept Christ as our savior and if Christ lives in us then our ways should be pure. The question to ask is this, After I received Christ, are my ways pure, does my actions reflects the image of a person who has Christ in him.

The things of the world is overtaken us, we are more obedient to the pleasures of this world than the hope we have in Christ which is eternity. Perhaps most of us have forgotten that the great judgment of God awaits us, some of us have forgotten that a day and a time is coming when we will all stand before the great God and will be judged, both young and old, rich and poor, big and small etc.

There is nothing more real and true in the bible like heaven and hell. Christ in almost all instances reminds us of that day. You have heard of this day and if you think it is just a story and its never real then am sorry you have to change your views on that.

We have been given the remedy in escaping hell through the grace of God by been obedient to his word and keeping them. Let not the word of God depart from your heart especially in this days of your life. If there is any greater investment you can think about, then it is investing I the things of God and walking in the path of God.

It’s my prayer the good God of heaven will grant us the strength to keep and commit ourselves to His word and abide in them so that we are not drifted away.

God bless you
